My Classrooms
As a classroom educator this is where I keep my resources related to my classroom. I am a big believer in transparency and supporting other educators with resources that they may choose to utilize in their own practices. Similarly parents can keep in touch with my classrooms through this website and through my blog which covers all my experiences. Last but not least, this section is a resource for all of my students to check for the latest assignments, lessons and other useful resources that they can access whether at home or in class. To access individual class resources just follow the underlined links and click through. However as you will notice this website is currently a work in progress so much of the content is to follow.
Junior High
Geography
The Junior High Geography Curriculum follows the Ministry of Ontario guidelines. At my school we have a grade seven and eight classroom that follows a two year cycle. In Cycle One I teach the grade seven curriculum and in Cycle Two I teach the grade eight curriculum. For each cycle there is differentiated assessment and expectations based on the grade level of the individual student.

Civics and Careers
The Junior High, Physical Eduation Curriculum follows the Ministry of Ontario guidelines. In addition the program is enriched through integration with the outdoor education program. Throughout the year physical education students are exposed to team sports, non competitive outdoor activities, nutrition, human anatomy and training principles as well as sexual health. The goal is to encourage students to pursue healthy active living for life.

The Junior High Outdoor Education Program integrates curriculum from all elements of the Junior High program from Physical Education, History, Math, Science, Geography and French. There are two peak experiences a Nine Day Odyssey Outdoor Expedition in early September and a four day three night Winter Expedition in February. In between we have once a week classes in the outdoor classroom.
Though Digital Literacy is not an actual class, students are constantly utilizing technology to communicate effectively and to produce documents and deliverable examples of their learning. As a teacher I strive to integrate technology as a tool in my classroom environment. Whether its creating computer generated maps, powerpoints, or posters, to blogging, digital fieldtrips through google maps or even utilizing online writing tools.
